Set against the golden backdrop of Rajasthan’s arid beauty, The Tour_de_Thar is a one-of-a-kind cycling road race unfolding on the smooth stretches of the Amritsar – Jamnagar Expressway that cuts through the vast Thar Desert.
Taking place on the 23rd of November 2025, this high-octane event offers three challenging distances – 300 km Relay, 200 km, and 100 km – on the rolling course and is designed to push the limits of every cyclist’s speed, stamina, and spirit.

Riders must be 18 years and above (relay teams may have exceptions for 16+ with parental consent).
Must be medically fit to participate.
Prizes
Medal categories for finisher cyclists in 300km Relay race, 200 km & 100km Race
- Gold Medal: Finishers in or before: 9 hr 30min for the 300km relay race; 6 Hr 30 min for the 200 km race & 3 hr 15 min for the 100 km.
- Silver Medal finishers in 9 hr 30min to 10 hr 30 min for a 300km relay racebetween 6 hours 30+ min to 7 Hr 30 min for a 200 km race & 3 hr 15+ min to 3 Hr 45 min for a 100 km.
- Bronze Medal: All other finishers till cutt off time in all race categories.
- Participants considered for the open category prize money will not be eligible for the age category awards.
- Winners will receive the amount in their accounts after verification and deduction of TDS. The transfer of the winning amount will take up to 45 days from the date of the event.

Endurance Cycling Race
For the 300 km Relay Race, 200 km, and 100 km cycle races, the rules and regulations will prioritize safety, fairness, and logistical efficiency while considering the endurance nature of the event. Here’s a recommended structure broken down by category:-
1. General Race Rules
Time Limit: All participants must complete the 300 km relay race within a 12-hour cutoff time, the 200 km race (solo or relay) within a 9-hour 30-minute cutoff time, and the 100 km race within a 4-hour 30-minute cutoff time (including breaks), with no exceptions.
Cut-off Points: Intermediate cut-off times will be updated soon.
Any riders reaching a checkpoint after the cutoff time will not be allowed to continue the race. They will be taken to the holding area in the sweep vehicle.
Crew car: *No support vehicle is allowed in this race, and no participant may bring any 2- or 4-wheeled vehicle on the race course or at any checkpoints. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in disqualification without warning or notice. Athletes or participants racing in the 200 km solo race can deposit drop bags, which can be used at the 100 km marks.
Drop bag: The maximum weight of the bag is 3 kg. Items that can be placed in the drop bag include: a spare cycling jersey, shoes, nutrition, spare tubes, etc. Wheels are not allowed to be kept at any checkpoints.
Bike Type: All types of cycles are permitted, except e-bikes, unless otherwise specified. But we recommend cyclists/racers not to use the aero bars when in pelotons or at the race start time or in a group due to potential safety hazards; drafting is permitted.
Helmet Mandatory: All participants must wear an approved cycling helmet during the race ride.
2. Rider Eligibility & Categories
Minimum Age: Riders must be 18 years or older on race day.
Fitness Proof: Submission of a previous endurance race finish (100km+, 200 km+, triathlon, or similar) is recommended. (Optional Question)
Race Categories: Solo Race and Relay Team Race. For prize money and position details, please refer to the prize money rules section (https://tourdethar.in/prize-money-rules-1).
There will be no cancellations or refunds after registration. Participants can transfer their race registration to the next edition by requesting at least 30 days before the event date. If the event gets canceled, a full refund will be issued to each participant.
3. Elite and Amateur Participants: Rule
Any cyclist participating in the Tour De That 2025 Race, if he/she has an active CFI license, that participant will be considered an Elite Cyclist and hence will not be entitled to Amateur Age category prizes.
Any Cyclist whose CFI license is expired or no longer valid, and has not participated in any race organised by CFI/UCI/State Championship using the CFI or UCI License since November 2023, is allowed or will be entitled to the Amateur Age category prizes
4. Equipment & Safety
Lights & Reflectors: Front and rear bike lights and reflective gear pr cycle reflectors are mandatory if riding starts early or ends after sunset.
GPS Tracking: Riders must carry a GPS tracker or app to monitor route adherence and safety. (Optional)
Mechanical Support: Personal (Cyclists no Crew) or official race support allowed at designated zones only. In the Route, a participant can call for tech or medical help, which will be on 1stcall 1st, first-served basis unless an urgent medical emergency.
Medical Check: Pre-race health check and self-declaration form signing will be mandatory.
We insist and recommend cyclists/racers not to use the aero bars when in pelotons or at the race start time, or in a group, due to potential safety hazards.
5. Route & Navigation
Marked Course: The route must be marked.
No Drafting Behind Vehicles: Drafting behind vehicles is strictly prohibited. Be it an official car, photo/video team members, etc.
Road Rules: Riders must obey all local or race traffic laws if applicable
6. Aid Stations & Nutrition
Aid stations every 10 km with water, electrolytes, Food/Fruits, and basic mechanical support.
Each Aid station will have a bike tech area, a medical tent, and Hydration facilities.
7. Penalties & Disqualification
Time Penalties for minor infractions (e.g., littering, improper overtaking).
Disqualification for:
Route deviation without approval.
Use of unauthorized assistance (e.g., drafting vehicles).
Unsportsmanlike conduct or safety violations.
8. Emergency Protocols
Medical Response Teams are positioned along the course.
Riders must carry an emergency contact card and a mobile phone. (No music or headphones, or earphones allowed.

9. Finish Protocol
Final cutoff at 12 hours, for the 300km relay race, 9 hr 30 min for the 200km, and 4 hr 30 min for 100km participants. Official finishers must check in within this time.
Post-race check for safety and verification of timing.
