Annual marathon event with multiple associated races (road and trail) over a marathon weekend. Flat and fast road marathon route starting and finishing in Green Point, Cape Town. Also includes shorter Peace Runs and Trail events. Strong spectator support and festive atmosphere.

Eligibility
| • Full Marathon: minimum age 18 years • Trail runs: some distances require 18 years (e.g., 11 km, 22 km) • Peace Runs also have minimum ages (e.g., 9 years for 5 km) • Local and international participants allowed; licensed vs unlicensed terms differ • Time cut‐offs enforced (e.g. 6½ hours for full marathon) • Medical/fitness self‐declaration likely required under local athletic body rules |

| Total purse in recent editions ~ R1,751,500. • Marathon winners each got R250,000 • 2nd place: R125,000 • 3rd place: R60,000 • Record bonus around R100,000 • Wheelchair winners: R50,000 each; 2nd and 3rd also awarded scaled amounts • Additional prize‐money for top 10 men & women positions in open category in more recent editions (with US$ amounts) for elite fields. |
