Over the past few years, the CapitalTrails Community and others who have attempted our races have become familiar with the self-sufficient race format. Ticket Pricing

Choose from four enticing options:

  • Short: Run or hike these trails while making it to breakfast in-time! This (~)10 kilometer route is the perfect for runners and hikers alike. The participation fee for the Short category is INR 1500 (inclusive of taxes).

  • Long: Take on the adrenaline-packed (~)25 kilometer journey, and let the trails reveal their secrets to you. The participation fee for the Long category is INR 2500 (inclusive of taxes).

  • Ultra: For the first time ever, we’re pushing the boundaries of self-supported racing by introducing an ultramarathon category. The (~)50-kilometer ultra is for those who have mastered our ethos of sustainability, self-sufficiency and Leave No Trace, and want to test their limits on how long they can endure without any external aid (there will be a refueling station to replenish supplies mid-way). The participation fee for the Ultra category is INR 4500 (inclusive of taxes).

  • Relay: We bring you an Ekiden style, 2-person relay race category, another first-of-its-kind initiative for the Indian trail running scene. If you want the spice of the Ultra without its bite, get a teammate to tackle the team relay and take on the long distance one after the other. The participation fee for the Relay category is INR 2500 per team member (inclusive of taxes).

CapitalTrails

Building a community of resilient, responsible and self-sufficient trail runners Since 2019, we've been working on creating a community that's responsible, resilient and respectful to the outdoors. We're not just a running club - we're an initiative to educate people on the environmental, social, cultural and economical values that the sport of trail running brings. Through our outdoor meets, race series, mapping and FKT projects, blogs and the podcast, we aim at creating an educated outdoors community that's sensitive to all environments that the trails take us on.

Gear Suggestion

Our gear checklist might (not) seem like a lot, but this is essential loot and will need strict adherence. We will be doing gear-checks and will be checking for the following items. We don’t care how you carry them – we just care that you do. And if you don’t, then your participation will be cancelled on the spot and you’ll be required to volunteer with us for the event!

  • Water/Hydration: Carry the hydration power of a thousand desert camels! Okay, maybe not that much, but enough to quench your thirst throughout the entire race. We recommend at least 2L of water and electrolyte mix (combined) if you’re opting for the Long distance or Relay. For the Short category, you should carry at least 1L. And ensure you have a lot more in your cars/cabs for before and after the race. For the Ultra category, you should have a minimum of 2L of water on you for each fo the (~)25 KM sections.

  • Nutrition and Fuel: The wall is a great album by Pink Floyd, and a not-so-great structure in forests. Moreover, it’s something you don’t want to hit while racing. So stock up on your energy-packed goodies (gels, candy, nuts, whatever gives you that carb rush) to keep those legs moving.

  • Mobile Phone: Not to take selfies (although we love them too), but to use for navigation and scanning those checkpoint QR codes! And while at it, make sure your batteries are fully charged before starting the race.

  • Downloaded .gpx File: There will be no route markings. Participants will use the .gpx files shared for the race along with navigation apps such as Gaia GPS, OsmAnd or similar apps on their mobile phones to navigate. Just make sure you follow the route rather than the runner in front of you.

  • Webscorer App: This is needed for tracking checkpoints and QR codes.

Race Category

CapitalTrails CapitalTrails Race Series – SOHNA is a full-on self-supported adventure! You bring your own gear, fuel, hydration, tech – and anything else you think you might need – it’s a 100% BYO party.

For the non-Ultra (10 KM and 25 KM) categories, there will be NO on-route support for anything (no aid stations, no water supply, no route markings, no start-line Zumba, no finish-line feasts) and you’ll be responsible for your own success or failure in the race. We’ll only be sharing a most accurate GPX file/version of the route and will have our volunteers at select checkpoints along the route.

For the Ultra (50 KM) category, we are offering a drop bag facility around the start / finish, which is also the half-way point. Participants must replenish their supplies before heading back onto the trails. No support / supplies will be provided by the race organizers or volunteers. Drop bag should have all required supplies, such as 2 litres of water, for the next section of the race. Hence, in FKT terms, the ultra marathon will be a fully self-supported effort.
