Event Details
It is being organised to mark one year of Operation Sindoor, India’s decisive response to terror, and to honour the innocent lives lost in the Pahalgam terror attack of 22 April 2025.
On 10th May 2026, thousands of Indians will come together not merely to run, but to stand for the nation, its soldiers, and its unbreakable resolve.
This run is a tribute to:
• The innocent civilians martyred in Pahalgam
• The brave forces who protect Bharat
• The leadership that took bold action
• Every Indian who believes terror has no place in our future
“This is not just a marathon. This is a national pledge.”
What is Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor represents India’s new doctrine against terrorism —
Zero tolerance. Decisive action. National unity.
It was the nation’s answer to the pain of 22 April 2025.
Shahothon 2.0 transforms that military response into a people’s movement, where citizens honour sacrifice not with speeches, but with strength, sweat, and solidarity.
Why Shahothon 2.0 Matters
Shahothon brings together:
• National security
• Youth power
• Fitness
• Patriotism
• Leadership
Every step taken by a runner sends a message:
India is united. India is strong. India will never bow to terror.
This platform allows soldiers, youth, families, athletes, and leaders to stand together for one cause — Bharat.
What Shahothon Represents
Shahothon is a symbol of:
• National unity
• Zero tolerance to terrorism
• Respect for sacrifice
• Youth participation in nation-building
This is not a political event.
This is the nation’s conscience in motion.
Why We Run
We do not run to compete.
We run to remember.
We run to honour.
We run to tell the world:
Bharat will never forget.
Bharat will never forgive terror.

Running a Marathon is itself a challenge but running the LADAKH MARATHON (42.195km) is even a greater challenge. A tough race at a high altitude, the Ladakh Marathon is not for those with no experience in running marathons but for those who have had dedicated themselves to several months of training. Individuals new to running should begin with a shorter distance and then move up. If you are a serious long distance runner this will be one race that will be a “must do” and one that you will always remember and be talking about for a long time to come.

Eligibility
To participate in the Ladakh Marathon, runners must meet both age and performance eligibility criteria depending on the race category. The minimum age ranges from 12 years for the 5 km run, 14 years for the 11.2 km run, 16 years for the half marathon (21.1 km), 18 years for the full marathon (42.2 km), 20 years for the Khardung La Challenge (72 km), and 24 years for the Silk Route Ultra (122 km). For the marathon, runners must have either completed one full marathon under 6 hours after 1 January 2025 or two half marathons under 3 hours within the qualifying period. For the half marathon, participants should have one half marathon under 3 hours or two 10 km races under 1 hour 30 minutes. Ultra categories have stricter requirements, usually requiring previous ultra-distance race experience or strong marathon results. All qualifying races must be official events with valid finisher certificates, and virtual races are not accepted. Because the race takes place in Leh at around 3,500 meters altitude, runners are strongly advised to arrive early and acclimatize before race day to avoid altitude-related issues. 🏔️🏃♂️
BIB Information
For the Ladakh Marathon, the bib distribution is done in person at the Ladakh Marathon Expo in Leh. Runners must collect their bib and timing chip themselves from N.D.S. Memorial Stadium, Leh, between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and they must bring a valid photo ID (such as Aadhaar, passport, or driving license). Bibs cannot be collected by someone else and no bibs are issued before or after the assigned dates, so runners must plan their travel accordingly. (Ladakh Marathon)
For the 2026 edition, bib collection dates are:
-
Silk Route Ultra (122 km) and Khardung La Challenge (72 km): 29–30 August 2026
-
Marathon (42.2 km), Half Marathon (21.1 km), 11.2 km Run, and 5 km Run: 5–6 September 2026 (Ladakh Marathon)
Participants must wear the bib clearly on the front of their shirt during the entire race, and the entry bib is non-transferable—if someone runs with another person’s bib, they will be disqualified. (Ladakh Marathon)
If you want, I can also tell you what comes inside the race kit (t-shirt, chip, gear, etc.), which is useful if you’re planning to run this race. 🏔️🏃♂️

“This is not just a marathon. This is a national pledge.”
What is Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor represents India’s new doctrine against terrorism —
Zero tolerance. Decisive action. National unity.
It was the nation’s answer to the pain of 22 April 2025.
Shahothon 2.0 transforms that military response into a people’s movement, where citizens honour sacrifice not with speeches, but with strength, sweat, and solidarity.
Why Shahothon 2.0 Matters
Shahothon brings together:
• National security
• Youth power

Every step taken by a runner sends a message:
India is united. India is strong. India will never bow to terror.
This platform allows soldiers, youth, families, athletes, and leaders to stand together for one cause — Bharat.
What Shahothon Represents
Shahothon is a symbol of:
• National unity
• Zero tolerance to terrorism
• Respect for sacrifice

The event features multiple race categories ranging from 10 km to 70 km ultra distance, attracting elite ultra runners, adventure athletes, and high-altitude specialists from around the world. Event Details
